

Université de Bordeaux
The University of Bordeaux welcomes 56, 000 students, of which almost 2, 000 are PhD students and 6, 200 are international students. It employs around 5,900 staff members, with nearly 4,000 are academic and research staff.
Ranked among the top universities in France, the University of Bordeaux was one of the first universities to obtain confirmation of the “Initiative of Excellence” label, awarded by the French government in recognition of its innovative training, research and knowledge transfer programs.
Multidisciplinary education offer
The University of Bordeaux offers 250 Master programs, 150 Bachelor (incl. vocational) programs and 55 national diplomas in health in the following disciplines:

- Science and Technology
- Life and Health Sciences
- Social and Human Sciences
A large range of qualifications are possible, including of course a national diploma in enology, thanks to our expertise within the domain of Vine and Wine Sciences.
International study programs
Approximately 12% of students at the University of Bordeaux are international. The university has developed a wide range of international study programs that are taught in English (or other languages) and that offer students the possibility of completing joint or double degrees.
Approximately 70 international study programs exist at Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate levels including 18 EU-labeled programs. The University of Bordeaux is a leading university in France for participation in the Erasmus Mundus Program.
A leading, international research university
Research is also multidisciplinary, organized according to 11 departments, and with over 70 research laboratories that are under joint supervision with national research organizations. A Graduate Research School coordinates the entire field of doctoral studies in collaboration with the eight doctoral schools that ensure support and guidance for Ph.D. students.
